PAST EVENTS
Carl and Joanne Foundation: A non-profit committed to the community of South Lyon fueled by the memories of two amazing people, Carl and Joanne Heinanen. Two that always seemed to bring everyone close much like gravity. A home always filled with neighbors, friends, family, and anyone looking for a steak dinner. Maybe a cocktail too! The Carl and Joanne Foundation is inspired by the memories of Christmas with my grandparents Carl and Joanne Heinanen. Powered by these memories we are an organization committed to the continued growth of the City of South Lyon, while cultivating its small town roots through community involvement.
ABOUT US
OLD FASHIONED CHRISTMAS TREE FOUNDATION
2018 was the beginning of it all, where dreams became a reality. One of the largest live tree foundations in the State of Michigan proved to be challenging. Thousands of pounds of Steel and hundreds of yards of concrete insure years of holiday use.
SOUTH LYON EVE SPIRE
In 2019 we constructed one of the few actual Ball Drop Spires in the State of Michigan. At over 100ft in elevation this required massive building restructuring and innovative engineering solutions to provide a functioning ball drop.

HEINANEN FAMILY FIREPLACE
In 2019 we installed an in-house steel fabricated fireplace of massive proportions to provide much needed warmth during the holiday season.

SOUTH LYON STAR WITH STAR CAM
In 2022 we constructed an all-aluminum 50” tree topper designed to be the beacon of South Lyon during the month of December. The Star Cam broadcasts its view from the very tip of the “Big Tree” all season.

CARL AND JOANNE MOBILE MARQUEE
In 2022 we built a mobile event calendar designed and constructed to provide event awareness throughout the City of South Lyon.

1982 CUSHMAN TRUCKSTER
In 2022 we restored a 1982 Cushman Truckster that was long abandoned in Burnett, Texas. The vintage Truckster was shipped to South Lyon where it would receive a complete restoration. During this time it was fitted with the necessary parts and pieces to become the mobile bar it is today. Affectionately now known as “CJ”
